Radio Flyer Balance Bike Review

The Radio Flyer Glide and Go Balance bike is the perfect learning tool for children wanting to learn how to ride a two-wheeler bike, building your child’s confidence while they have fun!

Buying a balance bike to teach your child to ride a bike is good because:

  • it allows young children to develop balance and coordination
  • the distraction of pedals is gone
  • and the rider has more control

However; there is only a specific window of time that a child can fit on these bikes, sometimes making them an expensive tool.

BOTTOM LINE

WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER MORE EXPANSIVE BALANCE BIKES, THE RADIO FLYER STANDS OUT FROM THE COMPETITION DUE TO IT’S LOWER PRICE POINT. THE ONLY CON ON THIS BIKE IS THE FRAME DESIGN, THAT DOES NOT SWOOP DOWN IN THE MIDDLE. DEPENDING ON THE HEIGHT OF YOU KID, THIS COULD BE AN ISSUE.

No pedal bike

The key feature of the Radio Flyer Glide and Go Balance bike is the lack of pedals. Not having pedals allows the child to focus on balance, the main skill required to ride a two-wheeled bike. The child uses their feet to move the bike and as they become better at balancing their feet will naturally stay off the ground longer as the bike glides along. There is less fear of falling because the child is in control.

Adjustable seat

The second feature that should be highlighted is the adjustable seat. This seat grows with the child and allows for an age range of two and a half years old to five. It also means that if your child is particularly big or small for their age the bike can be made to be size appropriate.

The Radio Flyer Glide and Go Balance bike comes with traction tread tires, adjustable seat, a sturdy steel frame, and a real ringing bell.

One customer reviewed this bike as a “Great Product”, stating;

My three year old loves it! He can go really fast, and has much better control on a bike with peddles. He almost never falls, because he is able to break his fall with his feet. He has learned balance, and can glide on it for quite a ways. It gets him playing outside, and matched his Radio Flyer wagon and wheelbarrow. It is much cheaper than the Strider Bikes, but is equally sturdy. I would recommend to anyone!

The Radio Flyer Balance bike is a great way to start your child on their bike-riding adventures. It teaches them confidence and balance, while removing the fear of falling. With great features, such as the adjustable seat, allows children as young as two and a half to get out and enjoy the freedom of riding a bike!
